I finished my first projector, 15" lcd, and I would like to send some HD OTA to it now that football season is starting. I am confused about whats the best way. I tried hooking up the projector to my PC and setting the resolution to 1280 x 720 but it looked bad. I gather that the Lcd will not scale HD signals.

Is my only option and HD tuner card for my PC?
or

Can I get an HD satellite reciever for OTA and pipe it through something like the Kworld TV BOX1440

I would like to get the TV Box so I can also run the stand alone DVD player through it. Also my computer is located down the hall in the office, I would hate to run cable in the attic.

thks

Well your 15" Lcd is only 1024x768.

So it is not really capable of HD not even 720p.

But if you add an OTA Hd tuner to your Pc , then you can send that HD signal to your projector downconverted to 1024x768.

It will look good , not quite HD but close.

The Kworld will not work because it doesn't have any HD inputs , like component or Hdmi/Dvi. So you wouldn't be able to get the HD signal from the HD Satellite receiver into the Kworld.

Not to hi-jack the thread but any info may help those wanting HD TV, does ALL 17" LCD'es support at least 720p? What would it take to make it 1080?

A standard 17" is 1280x1024. 720p is 1280x720. So yes all 17" can do HD 720p.

No a 17" can't do 1080p. That is 1920x1080. There is no way a 17" could be made to accept a 1080p signal.

Thanks for the response. The Kworld 1440 specs says it supports
'standard-definition and high-definition signal input (480I/ 480P/ 576I/ 576P/ 720P/ 1080I)'
it looks to have one set of component cables (YPbPr).

It seems that this should take a 720p and output to 1024x768. Am I correct??

Thx

Duh, it sure does.

Why didn't I see that ???? unsure.gif

Well then, yea that would work.

I don't know what the quality would be like though. Some of the converter boxes darken the picture and sometimes add a tint to the picture. But it might look good. Try it and be sure to let us know smile.gif

you have to buy a 17" LCD for better result If you want to see football matches. I am also waiting for the football matches and therefore I have already buy a 29 " LCD. I am crazy about football matches and love to see matches on TV.
