Hi,

I already have a 17 " LCD that can be stripped and is perfect for a DIY projector. No FFC issues.

However, the room for the projector only has enough throw distance for 9.8 feet.

Can I use a S15 lens and the Pro fresnel lens with a 17 " screen?

I used the Focal Calculator II, rev1.43 which allows for FP of 320 and 500 mm with a 17 " LCD which changes the throw length within the limits of my room.

I want to check that maybe due to the focal angle, whether the S15 lens can be used with a 17" LCD.

Thanks.

It has been done but,,,,,,,, without perfect alignment and alot of tweaking you will more than likely not be pleased with your projection. I am not certain but I think Supraguy or Jonjadran made one

No you can't use a S15 lens with the Pro fresnels. You need a 220mm/330mm fresnel lenses for the S15 triplet. The Pro fresnels are 220/650mm. The 220mm will work but the 650mm won't. You would need to source a set of 220mm/330mm large fresnels from www.3dlens.com. A395a and A395b are the part #'s.

The S15 triplet will work with a 17" in widescreen mode. In 4:3 the corners would be dim/blurry.

I would suggest just using a Pro kit.
