One option I've thought would be cool, (but not an option for me due to finances and the fact that I rent) would be to replace a ceiling light with a projector. You'd have to make sure to mount it REAL good to the ceiling's rafters or something like that, and I'd probably have an electrician check the whole rig out just to be on the safe side. It would be nice and out of the way, but adjusting it would probably be a real pain. Also, you'd want to set it up so that changing the bulb is super easy. You could also wire all the controls to the same panel where the former over head light's on/off switch was.

Man I wish I had more money and my own house.

-Money is only a limitation, if you allow it to be.
-When theres a will, theres a way.

So on, well thats the purpose behind a DIY-er, is you do things on the cheap, cut corners when you want to. I built my entire PJ with only $80. And it's not perfect, but it deff worth the $80.

One way you could do it is mount the pj on the ceilin then run the wires though some 1inch pvc run it across the ceiling then down the wall to where ever you need it you could paint the pvc or do what ever you need to make in not to visible and hey its cheap to biggrin.gif

the ceiling light idea is alright, as far as the power for the projector goes, but data still has to get there, so you would still need a wire run. So by solid walls you mean what, brick, concrete?? is this a top floor with an attic above? you could always hide the wire going up the wall then have it run through the attic... actually the big question is do you rent or own? if you own the place, anything is possible. Another way is crown moulding, if your projector is all the way on the back wall... thats a cheap retrofit to hide the wires. I rent so ive just got wires running everywhere, and dont care, when I own a house, things will be different, I pull too much wire for other people to not do up my own place when I get it.
