Hi all,
Recently I came across the site below, which offers high intensity CFL's.
http://www.vibelights.com/2rawccbu.html

These CFL's are of around 35,000 cdm2 intensity, are they sufficient as light source in a projector? may be 5-6 of them.
These can be very convenient (if sufficient) as far as heat management is concerned.
There may be some problem with color temperature, but a workaround may be thought of, maybe a color filter?

What's the relation between lumens and cdm2 by the way?

regards,
Neeraj

In terms of lumens/watt, MH lamps are still superior. The MH lamp will make less heat (And use fewer watts) than the same lumens from CFL sources.

In addition, the diffuse light sources if CFLs is difficult to make a projection with.

A candella is a measurement of light in a specific wafelength and a specific arc angle in stereoradians. Without the beam angle data, it's impossible to convert.

In Light intensity, though, is measured in lux, which takes into account a range of wavelengths. For visible light, we use the CIE curve, which basically comprimises white light.

Lumens is lux multiplied by the surface area, in square meters, which kind of brings you back to cdm2, though there's still technically a difference.

Thanks, SupraGuy, That gives me some direction.
