someone i know has a "damaged" 61 inch Rptv. The defect he has in the image is that he says there is something reddish in the image. my guess is that is should be the light or something in it. if this is happening could it be something that is not worth taking home, like a bad screen or something?

if i get it home ill post pics of the problems in the image.

could it be something stupid i can fix and keep it without extensive modding???

If the RPTV uses 3 diferent color projectors in it then it could be that one of the lenses is out of adjustment. It might be fixable buy adjusting the lens then, which might be a real PITA but for a 61" RPTV i think it would be worth it.

The RPTV I garbage picked had a blue only screen.
When I took it apart only the Blue CRT was working.
The other two were not working & the whole inside of the case smelled like burnt electronics.

The TV is about 20 yrs old & I had no desire to try & get it fixed so I gutted it to try & DIY it.

Post some pictures for the screen and the inside fron the rear looking at screen with mirror removed, and maybe a couple other angles.
