Full Version: 3.5" Lcd W/controller

I know you have all seen the 3.5" LCD from izzotek, its basically the same thing but with more inputs optional. Here are the specs they gave me...

3.5" TFT Display
Resolution: 640x480 (native)
Contrast: 400:1
Response time: 15-25ms
Inputs: D-Sub VGA , Dual Composite Video
and S-Video

This one won't be like what the 7.2" is because this already has a controller! (more about the 7.2" later) From what I can tell the specs on this one look alittle bit better than the izzotek one (350 contrast, less inputs, 25-35ms). Like I said if you want them I'll get them. Also tell me if you care about s-video it would make it cheaper.
TESCORP
I might be interested in a few if the price is right. put this behind one of my 180mm triplets for a 62" diag image @ 10 feet. let me know.

If only i had the money for these kinds of things. I think this panel would be a good candidate for slide projector conversions.
mdmfootball
It seems I could get these for you guys at about 175 a piece if you want them
ndnjoeh
I'd be interested in one but what do you mean about the s-video? With it or without it I'd prefer the cheaper one.

Joe
mdmfootball
It would be without s-video because I don't think many people use s-video any more.
TESCORP
what would be the price difference with vs without, I would like S-Video input.
mdmfootball
not much I think its around 10. I can get the s-video if you want it, 10 bucks isn't much at all maybe they will just give me the s-video.
greymalkin
nice...with a panel this small you should skip the fresnels alltogether and go for straight glass lenses. you could make your projector out of 4" PVC pipe smile.gif.
ts3
Is that $175 with or without the s video? I would be interested also. Sounds like a good price to me.

yes with S-video.

I'd buy if you can get a hold of them.

Just let us know if it'll happen, and when.

Like he said, that's really 480x234.

to explain:

LCD color filters are arranged in vertical "stripes" like so: (there are other types but this is the most common, and also the least costly to manufacture)

RGB|RGB|RGB|RGB
RGB|RGB|RGB|RGB
RGB|RGB|RGB|RGB
RGB|RGB|RGB|RGB

the pixel resolution of this matrix would be 4x4
the "dot" (or subpixel) resolution would be 12x4

when they list a resolution as 1440x234, they are listing a "dot" resolution. the pixel resolution (which is what we are really intersted in knowing) is (1440/3=)480x234.
