HI, I am new to this entire home projector thing and I was hoping I could get some advice/ guidance from you guys. First of all thanks in advance for your suggestions. I am looking to purchase one of the lumenlab evo projectors. I am planning to hook up the cable to it and a dvd player. My question is which unit is better for these things. I was not able to tell much of a difference between the two units and was hpoing someone would help me with this. Does the evo 1.1 have speakers in it where the evo 1.2 doesn't???? Are they both similar in ease when it comes to connecting the cable and dvd devices along with perhaps a simple speaker system??? I saw that the evo 1.1 has a automatic fan shut off option. Does the evo 1.2???? Am just really excited about getting one of these projectors and was hpoing I could get some help from you all. Both projectors seem to have recently came out and was wondering what the differences are and what I should lean toward purchasing. Is it a simple take out of the box and plug it is sort of deal or is it difficult to set up and adjust? Does one remote offer more then the other?? I am really sorry for all the annoying questions, but have a lot of them here. Does anyone have any reviews good or bad about these projectors?

There's a specific evo forum on this site with tons of helpful people to help you wtih your questions. That said. I own an evo 1.2. It is just an update of evo 1.1 Not sure you can even buy evo 1.1 directly from this site anymore. Basically the remote has changed to be more lean(no longer do buttons glow in the dark) and instead of having a quiet mode button the fan voltage and what not has been revamped on the inside so that it will boost the fans up or down as much as it needs to automatically. Still much much louder than a commercial projector. Hookups really weren't a pain you just plug into the side, use the remote.. hit power.. wait for it to warm up.. then select the source on the remote. Only other thing you have to do is adjust your brightness, saturation, etc. settings at the beginning but thats it and is really easy to do. Just upping or lowering values on a menu. Keystone is on the side is just a little wheel you turn. Only downside to setup is that I had to use a book to angle it up as much as I needed cause the props didn't cover it. (mine is sitting ontop of a file cabinet). Also there is no Zoom lens so how far you place it away from the wall decides the picture size. I personally have mine sitting about 90" away from the wall and produces a 72"+ picture. You can go back further but the picture is going to get bigger, so your pixels get bigger, brightness decreases, etc. So you just have to find the size that you like.

Lots of user reviews here.. and someone linked to some more professional reviews too I think though don't have that thread off the top of my head.
