I just posted this on another forum I frequent.

I wonder if implementing this in a projector would be possible?? Ibet not but maybe someone with more projection knowledge would know.

I didn't read much of the website, but on the surface it sounds kind of lame... Kind of like the old Super Nintendo side scrolling games where they had multiple distinct layers in the background that would scroll at different speeds. Definitely better than a single layer, but it never looked 3D to me.

Like I said, I didn't read much, so it's entirely possible I don't understand it. Or maybe this technology needs to be seen to be appreciated.

If it's anything like THIS then let me get my credit card out!

To keep the SNES analogies going: the youtube video above sounds like Donkey Kong Country compared to the old layered 3D effect.

Stereo glasses, nvidia stereo driver, F-theta lens projection and a hemispherical projection screen ... I might never leave my room again!

Over the summer while I was doing an internship I was able to visit a "visualization room" which consisted of 5 projection panels in a corner where 2 panels were on 1 wall, another panel was on another wall butted up against the other 2 panels in a corner, and the last panel was on the floor touching the other 2 panels that met in the corner. Anyways, they had 5 of these special $80k 3d projectors and polarized glasses that allowed them to "fly" over and into 3d terrain and look at the oil deposits, etc. It was really sweeeet.

.hmm...wasn't there something like this in brave new world? or was it another one of those sci fi novels...

Are you thinking of The Guardians of the Flame?
They had that room with a window screen of some type that let them see anywhere.
