Terminal
I'm a web-freak so I hate writing detailed things in forums tongue.gif Here's my projector details on my site:

Terminal's Projector (offsite)

I'm using some checks there for protection.. So this also counts as a test to see how compatible it is. wink.gif Let me know if it doesn't load or anything smile.gif

All I can say is *wow* smile.gif The projector is better than I expected originally, and isn't one bit less that I expected in any way. biggrin.gif Great, great stuff.

looks great smile.gif should have log on / passwords on that site to stop non paying people lookin at it and getting ideas smile.gif

new plants to i see.... tag still hanging on one smile.gif
Terminal
Haha.. Actually the plants have been there since I moved in here ~ 4 months ago.. I just like having the tags on and/or am too lazy to remove them... tongue.gif

I tried to go to your site but a message popped up that said "It looks like you didn't come from Lumenlab forums". Obviously I have bought the guide at Lumen Lab. How do I get to your site?

I also purchased a 567s V2 and would like to know was there any additional grounding you did for ur lcd after it was stripped? or you just stripped it and put in striaght into ur PJ box? and how did u mount ur lcd into ur box, how is it held in place?

TIA

EDIT: was there any other additional tools u used such as a special set of screwdriver other then philips screwdriver?

If you leave all the boards in the "pan" then you dont have any grounding concerns. its the easiest and cleanest way for that lcd.
Terminal
I left the boards in the metal casing which handles most of grounding.. The LCD panel controller (attached to LCD by FFCs) does need to be grounded. Just use a wire with some nuts & bolts to attach it.

It's mounted in the box using wood screws through holes on the sides of the metal casing.. Another option is to remove the boards and use the holes underneath, but the ones on the side were easier for me.

Oh, and from what I remember, a philips was the only thing I used..

Sorry one more question. Since i havent recieve my lcd panel yet (From tiger direct new for $315). Can you tell me ur LCD and tempered glass demesion so i can order it in advance. and if dont mind ur drawing plans or demensions of ur box and fan placement.

General question: do i put the tempered glass and fresnel together or should i seperate them?

TIA!!! cool.gif

Sorry i such a newb
Terminal
I used a glass size of 345mm x 250mm.. The box's internal dimensions are 360mm (w) x 300mm (h) x 720mm (d).

The dimensions are very close to those of the "simple projector plans". Find that thread and look a bit further for a diagram of how airflow works - I used the same idea.

The box size I have is just nice to fit the glass/LCD in, with some wood padding.. the glass is obviously quite close, and the LCD has ~ 2cm of wood on each side.

I attached the fresnel to the glass (on the lcd side) - it was easier than adding another mounting.

Looks great! And congratulations on Lumenlab Australia! I wish you the same good luck I wish for Brain and Lustra!

was 14 gauge wires used for all of ur electrical. EX. the wire to ur ballast and switches?
Terminal
The lamp/ballast came all wired up - I guess Taipan did this (I got his package)... The fan is connected direct to a 12v DC adaptor, and the LCD just plugs directly into a wall outlet..

about grounding the LCD controller was yours performed

By grounding all 3 screw holes

Other 3 ends Conected to the metal case

or 3 other end connected to the earth ground

Im asssuming u didnt ground the panel for the LCD power button, volume contrast controller.

TIA

Looks like the link at the beginning of the article no longer displays your project. sad.gif
Terminal
Sorry, works now..

I didn't ground the volume/button part, no.. smile.gif I actually just grounded one of the metal holes on the controller and attached it right to the main grounding wire (by unscrewing it, then adding another "eye" attachment)

Terminal can you post a picture of your grounding???

I'll buy a benq too.. smile.gif
Terminal
Will do tomorrow when there's sunlight tongue.gif .. my camera hates unnatural light sad.gif
Terminal
Just thought I'd post a pic of the result with the screen.. I haven't yet adjusted my shelving to move the projector down (and possibly screen up), so only half on the screen, but I can still watch things on it by moving the app to the bottom tongue.gif

(sorry I couldn't crop/shrink/anything the picture, photoshop is completely broken and other apps dont do very nice work)
Terminal
Of course it looks thousands of times better in person.. The text is beautifully crisp.. My camera is really bad at anything but outdoor pictures of people (with flash).
