I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate, and already have Media Center through that, but I'm wondering if there is a software package out there that permits HDTV from cable source. Media Center only displays HDTV from off-air sources, and not from cable (I don't know if that limitation is from the TV cards today or if it's due to Media Center), and I'd love to be able to show HDTV channels on my projector.

Please limit suggestions to Windows applications, as I'm really not willing to move to Linux or Mac for the solution. smile.gif

Thanks for your help.

I am using a Win TV (hd) Card with remote for My project . It is in a P4 Compaq 1gig of RAM .. I have had good luck with using windvr 3 .. You can get the program for about 20 or 30 bucks... but it is nice.. It will recieve HD off of my Direct TV box, I can pause frame, I can Channel Surf, Ican record video . he card also has a video input .. I have been putting my old vcr tapes on to my hard drive .. The quality is pretty good it compares to 1080 an my rptv.. Now I just got to build this projector , I will start on my 3rd monitor tear down this week.. Check Out the Win TV site on the cards and Check out Win DVR and see what you think
