Hi all,
I have been lurking for a while, but am now getting the chance to build my own home theatre.
Our new house will be complete within 3 to 4 months and we will have a bonus room over the garage that I will be turning into a home theatre. We are getting ready to put in electrical outlets, and then sheet the walls. I am trying to figure out where on the cieling I need to place outlets. I don't know what kind of projector I am going with yet, probably won't make it myself just because I have alot to do and don't have time to experiment. I figure my screen will be about 10' wide. Messign around with the focal point calculator I downloaded from here it seems that the projector will fall about 10' from the screen. Does this sound Correct?
Also, I will be installing in wall flush mounted speakers. Instead of running wire now before the walls are sheeted with drywall, I plan to run 1.5" Electrical PVC from the front of the room where all the electronics will be to the areas where the speakers will be built in. This way all I have to do is cut the hole for the speaker in the wall, and then pull whatever wires I need to hook them up. This will also allow nme to upgrade the wire later if I wanted to without cutting up my walls. I also plan to do the same thing with the video cable. I figure I will be able to keep up with different technology if ever it changes.
What do you all think?
Tom
