Does anyone know how hot one of these gets:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Fluorex-Fluorescent-Se...1QQcmdZViewItem

and could it be used instead of a others such as Metal Halide and Halogen?

Thanks for your time!

IT's a CFL.
The bulb won't get too hot.
I don't know about the ballast.

I'm going to be picking one or two of these up at HD as soon as I get my 10" panel in.
They come in 65W, 85W, & 100W models.

The bulbs are cheap but they only work with the ballast in the light.

I may go straight for the 100w or I may go for 2 65w or 2 85w just because the 100 watt bulb is HUGE.
About a foot.

If I go for 2 65w I'll price compare between ebay 7 the depot.

There are some small panel CFL projectors.
Tgreenwoods looked good.
If these don't work i'll just mount it on the side of my house so no loss.

The 65w unit is $43 at my HD
The 85w is $50 & the 100W is $60.

It looks like 2 65w units from ebay would give more light & still cost less than 100w. from HD.

what would the people of LumenLab say if i tried to make a projector with

the lamp in this thread
15" Dell E151FPb LCD (not the best specs)(until i can get a better one)(already have it)
Telescope Objective Lens (Focal Length about 200mm and 2" diameter)
Fresnel Lens (i need to know where to get them for REALLY cheap i don't care about the quality right now, if it works i will get better ones)

It would be very dim and the corners would probably be blurry.

From what I could gather, with CFL's you need enough bulbs to cover the entire LCD.
One just won't do it.

The glass portion of these bulbes are about 3" in diameter & about 6 inches long with a couple more inches for the base & thread.
The screen dimensions of my 9.6" lcd is 7.6" x 5.7".
Two of these should do the trick.

My buddy has one of these on his house & these suckers are bright.
but, we shall see hopefull in a few weeks.
