hi all..
because of the high cost of shipping to my country, and the high customs, I found that the s5 lenses kit will cost me about $120 over LL price and over 200 for the pro kit.. so I'm trying to find alternatives ..
there is this lens factory that specializes in telescopes and they do fabricate lenses for people..
do you think that they are able to fabricate the triplet lens? and since the triplet is 3 lenses not one, what is the information that they need to fabricate these lenses?

Make sure that what you want is equivalent to the standard lens or the pro by deciding what size lcd panel you will be using and how far of a throw you expect (how close to the screen will the pj be for the size image you want). No sense getting the wrong one made and then regretting it.
Then you will need the focal length of the triplet. The standard one is about 320mm and the pro 500mm but you should confirm those numbers, I'm just going off the top of my head. The fl is important or you may have trouble finding a matching field Fresnel so this spec must be accurate and should not be left to chance or you may have trouble focusing.
Also clear aperture is important so try to get as large as possible at least equal to the standard or pro triplets sold by LL. I think that info is posted in the LL store.
The quality of the material used would be one of the questions I would ask. What coatings are used and would they interfere with the projection. If they are experts they should know when you tell them how you plan to use it.

Check through this thread.
http://www.lumenlab.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=14859 It gives the specs of each lens and the spacing of them for a 22" EFL beseler lens. This is a 558mm FL lens and at least 5" diameter. Cheers

That is probably the best you will be able to do. You won't likely get the LL triplet specs, because they don't want other poeple making them; You might not, but if the specs are out there....someone will.
Speaking of the beseler lenses, maybe you could get one of those locally/close to where you live?
Good luck
