Hey Everyone,
I'm trying to push DVI out through a DVI to VGA dongle to a breakout cable to my Barco 701s data. I can't get any signal out through the DVI connection though, no matter if I use ATI or Omega drivers. Anyone have any luck doing this? If I boot up with my CRT monitor connected to the DVI dongle, it works until I get to the window's prompt. At that point, the monitor cuts out and a signal can only be derived from the normal VGA connection.
The DVI port will obviously support an Analog signal sent across it since it works with the CRT monitor during the boot up of the machine. It should work fine with the DVI to VGA adapter.
Maybe the issue is that you have the VGA port configured as the primary display in Windows? Have you tried swapping the displays in Windows, so that the primary is the DVI port, not the VGA port?
Are both ports actually configured/active in the dual monitor setup?
Also, why are you trying to use a DVI connector to get an analog signal (via the DVI-VGA dongle) when you already have a VGA analog port on the card?
Are you trying to do a dual-monitor setup, with the VGA connected to your CRT normally, and then the DVI will go to another device that uses an analog signal (via the dongle)?
Again, I could be wrong, I am not a dual monitor expert by any means, as I don't normally use such a setup for anything.
