Hi,
Just curious if anyone knows if this material would be any use for a screen, im tryna find a decent material that can be bought cheap from Ireland.

White material like that works quite well. You want the highest thread count per inch you can find. I wonder if you could buy a screen from someplace like TigerDirect where I got my commercial screen or won't they ship to Ireland and would it cost a fortune?

I used a bedsheet and were I to spend sufficient time getting out the wrinkles and waves I'm sure it would have only been a modest degree less satisfying than the screen I am now using. Sounds as if you have no local source of fabric?

Hi,
Thanks for the reply, I was just curious as I stumbled across it and it seems to be a great size (one piece rather than two). I'm a bit away from finishing my projector yet, so its not urgent or anything, just kinda thinking out loud. I'm looking into local sources for blackout cloth at the moment.
And yes my goal is to have an enormous commercial electric screen one day, but this may prove to be expensive/difficult especially if ordered from outside europe. As first I'll have to find somewhere willing to ship to Ireland, then probably pay ridiculous shipping charge (on top of an already expensive product) and then once it arrives pay a pretty big customs fee - (Didn't know about this till I ordered from lumenlab - worked out kinda expensive, but it was worth it... I hope)
So inside the E.U. is my best bet for ordering a screen I reckon, but for now im gonna stick with D.I.Y. for the satisfaction and cos I'm flat broke.
Cheers again for the input
John
P.S. Sorry for the long post

Sorry for postin twice but that post was long enough...
I have these large pieces of white melamine coated chipboard, and I was wondering how these would fare as a screen, if anyone has any input??
Im thinking since their so flat they may create some hotspotting but what would happen if I lightly sanded them, does anyone have any ideas or input on the subject?
Cheers
John
