What can cause a commercial projector to split colors as shown:

image1
Image2

only on the left of the projected image, the red moved further on the left !!
Something fixable ?
I need to change the module or enter in a "tech mode" on the projector to play with colors individualy ? ( As I did long time ago with my rear projection TV) !?!?

Thank you guys !

PS: It belongs to my boss, this is not on warranty anymore, I can do whatever I want with it, it is a proxima dp 6155. If there is nothing I can do, any good part for DIY projection ? tongue.gif

That is a 3 LCD projector, so it is likely limited to the control of the 'red' LCD itself.
Have you opened it to see what you can that is actually displaying on the 3 separate LCDs?
Is the 'red' lcd displaying a wider image on it's surface?
If not, do any of the mirrors associated with the red lcd look like they are out of place in any way?

If it is only 'stretched' on the one side of the red lcd, then it may well be an issue in the controller circuitry that is specific to the signal to that LCD itself.

Is there an possibility of swapping 2 of the lcds to see if the problem moves with the lcd, or stays with the circuitry for the 'blue' lcd. This might be a physical swap of the lcd, or maybe a move of the cable to 2 LCDs (which could present it's own issues)

That actually brings up a question for anyone, are these commercial 3 LCD systems using monochrome LCDs with 3 separate color filters, or are they specifically displaying the RG or B color in the LCD itself then combining them via path or lens.

I have never looked inside one of these personally, so take anything I say as if it's entirely wrong!

Good Luck!

From what I saw opening it, it has a lot of miroir, magnifier, AND colored lens!
The light is split in 3 dirrection, they are all splitted and passing through a different colored lens (red, blue yellow)
For the Blue LCD, the light goes through the red and yellow lenses.
For the red LCD, the light pass through the yellow and blue lenses !
This is a complicated projector tongue.gif

I cannot run it while open, I have to remove the board to see the LCD, without the board, no power on !

I'll see ehat I can do, thank you very much for you help !!
If anyone has already saw this issue on this projector (by any chance tongue.gif ) give me some hint !!
The triplet cannot be used on these projector for a DIY project hein ??!?!

In fact, we have 3 of those with this problem at the office ! sad.gif

Hmmm... Why can't you run it with the cover off ? Maybe just a safety switch somewhere ?

Sorry, the triplet FOV will be designed for the small LCD's used by this projector, not suitable for 15 or 17" panels, not even the 10.6" panels i'm afraid.

3 of them with the same problem ? I'd think someone has heard of this problem then. Maybe just send me one and i'll take a look at it.. smile.gif tongue.gif

good luck.

He guys .. I m not telling that they are gifts... but I wanna repair them !!! tongue.gif

My boss tell me that if I wanna work on them, it has to be out of the office's hour!
So, I stop working on them until he trash them !
Then I will bring them home and send you 1 each wink.gif (all this is not gonna happen, but it can wink.gif )

I have to pu the board on the top becaus the LCD are pluged on this board !!
This projector has not been very well configured tongue.gif
the power suply unit is on the buttom with all the lenses and the LCD, but the power goes to the board (which is on the top) and this board give the power to the LCD !
I ll try to give you a picture of the internal wink.gif

Thanks guys !

I just pluged it to see what happen, the top oard has to be pluged... it has the power button, LCD's plug and PSU plug !
Once this board is pluged in, I can't see the LCDs !
Even without the board.. there is too much lenses in front of the LCDs !
I will have to unplug all the LCDs, and then plug it with being IN the projector ..
but anyway, I have to do it on my breaks so, I ll stop working with them until my boss give them to me smile.gif
