Search 10.4" TFT LCD /8.4" TFT LCD /6.4" TFT LCD in here :
http://www.projectorcentral.com/
so you got this inf. tongue.gif

But note:
some projectore have Halogen lamp , like the Lightware VP800 Projector, ASK IMPRESSION 750 ....
they need Retrofit on the ballast and bulb.not so easy to do.

6.4" TFT LCD is SHARP , 800*600, it is OK, dont need 7.1 or 7.2 in (800*480)

********I can supply most of these bulbs, like 400w Halogen lamp, 250w-575w short arc Metal Halide lamp********

If you find one available and want to try a retrofit, definitely check projectorcentral.com for the weight, bulb type, etcetera, to see if it is compatible for what you want to do.

Thanks, ywh.

the Barco 2100 looks like it will be a breeze to update.

the size and weight (24"x24" and 47 pounds) doesnt help, but there is plenty of room to work in there!!

Just a note about retrofitting.

It really isn't all that easy.

"Just put an LCD in them" isn't really very accurate. be prepared for a lot of work.

1. You will need to make/adapt a frame for the lcd/fresnels that will work inside the commercial housing.
2. You will probably need to buy new fresnels to change from an unsplit to a split fresnel design to get rid of the dreaded uneven black screen.
3. You will need a multimeter as you will need to test a LOT of connections to find out what volts are needed to run the equipment you will leave in the projector.
4. You will need to re-wire the fans as they will be on a circuit made to keep running after the PJ is off, and this circuit is usually on the controller board which you will be removing.
5. You will need to run wires for the new controller and possibly hook up a 12v adapter to run it.
6. You will need to mount the new controller OSD with buttons that are not provided.

Etc,etc,etc........

Not for the faint of heart. For most it will be easier to build a box and buy the necessary parts.

and the ballasts will die!!

Probably not.

Projectorcentral.com is always a good resource. According to them it has an 8.4 inch LCD in it with a 4:3 aspect ratio.

A 4:3 8.4in LCD is 6.75 in wide and 5 in high
A 16:9 10.6in LCD is 9.25 in wide and 5.25 in high.

2.5 inches difference in width may be difficult to make work.

i would also tend to say no, a 10.6" will not fit
B0SC0
2100 lc does not use a 10.4" lcd. It uses PolySi 3LCD.

The 2100 does use the10.4" lcd.

You might want to add this note to the list.

we really don't know that yet
B0SC0
I am not sure what you mean.

According to projectorcentral site there is this difference.

Or are you saying that the 2100lc may or may not be modifiable.

In any case, a prospective buyer might want to consider the differences.

I think he is saying that the LC might in fact have a 10.4 inside it. In fact, I read a post off another site where a guy was saying he thought it did. I'll be downloading the manual tonight to confirm.

yeah, that is what i am saying.
i have not had one apart, but i cannot see that big housing, surrounding 3 LCD in any arrangement due to light engine, and electronics arrangement.

It's confirmed. The 2100LC has 10.4" inside it, just like the regular 2100. One more option on the table.

I have downloaded the full service manual for the 2100LC. Please send me a PM if you would like to see it.

is the 3M MP8660 a good one to use? i recently aquired one for $50 before i found this site, and since then have been wondering if i could use it. if not the case then maybe the parts inside? i'm thinking about getting the 1080p 15.4" lcd, and was wondering if i could atleast use it for the guts and just build a new inclosure. is that possible?

Not really a good choice. It uses a 3.2" Lcd and a 350 watt MH lamp.

You could probably use the lamp and ballast , but that would be about all. The reflector/precon/riplet would be to small. And the case would be to small.

i guess that's cool. the lamp/ballast, from what i can tell, are some of the most expensive parts.

CAn I get a copy of that?

TIA
