I am looking for a decent sound card that will do surround sound. I'm goin to be running sound through my Yamaha stereo system. I do not have a optical in or a digital in. I do have the 6 seperate channel ins. I am currently running a Sound blaster 16 Live with a 3.5mm to red/white RCA plugs. Works OK, but I want the surround sound and deep bass. I do not want to spend too much though.

Jim

Oh yeah the rest of my setup:

am-35 mobo stripped from my old pc
amd athlon 1ghz
768mb ddr ram
ati radeon 9700 pro
ati tv wonder 650
western digital 60gb hdd
running windows xp mce 2005

any ideas on improvement? I plan on upgrading processor and add up to 1gb ram, but any other ideas?

I have one in my HTPC, I went through 4 cards before I settled on that one, it is awsome. It can do real time encoding of Dolby 5.1 or DTS 5.1

I love this card, I strongly advise that you buy it. It costs around $100

If you don't need all that I have a good card with separate outputs that does 5.1 or 7.1 that I will sell you cheap like $20. PM me for details
