Hi a resistor (think it is a resistor) blew on my driver board for the lcd and im sure it can be replaced. The contacts appear clearly visible. All im trying to do is find one of the little blighters.
Next to where the resistor burnt out is says c58. so anyone know whre to find any. ive been looking at other cicuit boars but the closest i get to is c51. what is the difference? thanks

Got a pic? Usually circuit boards label individual components with C1, C2, C3, . . . for capacitors, R1, R2, R3, . . . for resistors, etc. So, I'm guessing you've got a blown capacitor. You'll need a schematic to figure out what value the component was before self-destructing. Also, when something fails it's usually for a reason and simply replacing that obviously blown item may not make things right. So, you seem to have identified a blown "capacitor number 58" for that specific board. If you can supply a pic it'll really help a lot.

ok, im going to work now. Ill post some pics when i get back. Thanks durachko

sorry about he quality of he photo, its late and im quite tired. ill take a better one if you need it. here it is

sorry, i should have pointed out the problem. Here is is below.
I dont know how im ever going to know what size capacitor to get for it, there are soo many different values. I dont think that emailing ally for any electrical ciecuitary diagrams will helo either, they dont seem to be the replying type.
any help

ok, got some better shots this morning. shame on me for putting up such rubbish pictures.

the terminals are clear, so replacing the cap shouldnt be too hard. but i need to know what kind of cap.
the thing might have blown because i had the curcuit boards free and moving around when i had the pj turned on (silly i know, but thats just me) must have touched another board or something. or who knows i might have even put something in the wrong way around.

hope someone can help me. and i hope that there is hope of being able to fix this, thanks

ok, i've replaced the capacitor and now the projector functions as it did before. but still doesnt display anything but a blue screen,I think that it is a signal sent straight from the lcd driver board. does anyone know what could be the problem?

when i press the power button the fans turn and the bulb will ignite. also the lcd will show a blue screen. All that time the power button will stay green. a minute later the green led will turn red. yet no change to the projector. e.g fans still turn and so on.

i am thinking that it is a lce control board issue, and maybe this control board is not meant for this prokector. I bought it second hand. maybe someone else has an idea?

Arran Hughes
messing around witht the projector today, if i plug something into the composite sockets the projector will not go on the red led, it will remain on green. Sometimes a loud loud noise plays throgh the speakers which makes me disconect it. once i actually saw some sort of text in the upper corner of the lcd, i think it said tv or something.
any suggestions anyone??? please

At this point I'd personally be "throwing in the towel". sad.gif

That's quite a crater made by that blown component. You've got problems beyond that item.

Sorry I can't offer any more assistance.
Arran Hughes
managed to get this up on screen without the projector powering down

strange. the projector hasnt worked at all. i think it may just have a faulty board anyway.

i just thought it would have been nice if i could have saved it! biggrin.gif

anyway guess its ome nice parts towards another diy smile.gif

its soo annoying that i cant seem to get it to work, is there a compatible controller board i can get for this?
Arran Hughes
noone knows where to get a compatible controller?
