I figured with all the experiments going on with polarizers everyone has been doing maybe someone would have an idea on how to add a transflective coating to any lcd panel for use in cars? Any ideas on what to use? I don't feel like paying a huge premium for something I'm sure is fairly simple

Yeah I could use that same thing. I have a 7" 800x600 in my dash (meant as a headrest screen) but during the day you cant see a thing!

why don't you just put an antiglare coating/sheet on it they can't be that much. Heres what I'm talking its called Clear-Touch Anti-glare and its made so you can read it in the sun. Heres some anti-glare on ebay its $2.06 that should work fine

Irony in a can I tell ya. There is a plethora of threads on the board asking methods of removing anti-glare from there LCD, and here we're looking at putting a layer back on. Haha comedy!

Yes, defenetly ironic. Anyway, i dont know if this would work, but maby putting a small mirror behind the screen? Or evin better put a 400w MH bulb behind it for a super backlight.
