I need an FCC extension cable for a Magnovox 15MF400T/36. The two video/LCD boards are connected with a small, clear, plastic FFC connector that is too short. Has anyone overcome this problem with this model? I can email you pictures if need be. Thanks so much.

Hey,

That like leads no where, did you end up figuring this out?

Yes, you can get an extension. Count the pins, and measure the width of the connector (in mm, since it's almost certain to be metric measure) Chances are that if it's 18 pins it'll be 9mm, or 20 pins, 10mm. (0.5mm pin pitch) It's also likely to be one of those 2 pin counts.

Once you know that, we'll be able to point out exactly which part you need, and where you can get it.

It looks as if the previous link was an attempt at a simple search of the LL forum using the keywords FFC Issue.

You can read up more about FFC cables and connections here: Note on using the FFC extension kits, How to extend

Hey, I'm a real newb and didn't even realize people had gotten back to me. anyway here is a picture of the connection:

By blowing it up on my computer I could easily count that there are 10 pins, also I measured and it is 5.5mm so that means .5mm spacing.

Here is another picture of the ribbon connected to the board with the original connector:

And finally the ribbon unplugged from the connector. The first time I did this it just pulled out accidentally (and I freaked cuz I thought I broke something). But as you can see in this picture the white portion flips up to release the ribbon:

So what I think I need will be a portion of cable that has ends that look exactly like this. I also need a way to connect the end of the new cable to old cable (some kind of female to female adapter). Then, if the new cable matches the male end of the one on there then I can just plug it into here and go crazy.

I am so exited to finally get this thing done, I got my roommates all excited to watch football and play xbox on this projector and this is the only thing standing in my way. If anyone can help at all please do not hesitate.

THANK YOU!!
