A custom designed color wheel <snip>

Wouldn't that mean that it's DLP? If it is DLP, then this screen is of no use to us (unless someone wants to delve into the realm of DIY DLP - not that anyone would want to, LCD is better (no rainbowing mainly)). If it isn't DLP, then: Where can I buy one and how much do they cost?!? I was already looking at making a small projector based on the optics of a slide projector and a Kopin LCD, so if I could have 1080p, that would be amazing!!!! biggrin.gif

DIY DLP would be many times better-IF you were willing to use 3 DLP chips biggrin.gif biggrin.gif tongue.gif

That would probably cost some serious $$$$$$$

Exactly. Not even professional DLP projectors do that, hence the rainbowing issue.

That's also the same concept as using three LCDs, but that didn't go very far in this topic. It would take waaay too much money, and the effort required to correct the alignment would be outrageous. Did I mention cost?
