Full Version: Benefit To Using Fs Mirror In Pre-optics Fold?

SSIA. Assuming relative equality in reflectivity, is there any benefit to using a FS mirror when folding before the fresnels and LCD?

I thought that with the short focal distance to the rear fresnel and the angles involved, there isn't really enough room to fold and not still have a direct path between the bulb and the fresnel. Not to mention the fact that you'd need more heat resistant glass since you're much closer to the heat source...

Edit: I suppose maybe with a 330mm rear fresnel.

Yeah, actually, I'd be using 300mm (approx. A1 + A2), a 9" LCD, and heat absorbing glass in the light box. Here's a crude drawing (the outer shell is actually a tower computer case laid on its side).

Anyone Thought of using a projector mirror like the ones from your school days to make a bent projection??
