is the yellow\green wire going to the brown powercable? if so then its correct, as far as i know u wont use the ground cable to get yer lamp fired up. -oh and watch your floor... it does get hot, and one other thing -whatever you do, dont look at the lamp for a long period of time cuz it will cause yer eyes to burn and sting like #)(&%"% 6 hours later..
steven7
just try it there but it made a big sound and flash that was the plug not the light. i use a uk plug and now its all black looks like it went on fire for abit the lamp looks ok but
Ronin
did u use the yellow\green cable from the powercable??

yes just like what u had setup on your pic
Ronin
no no mate, the yellowgreen cable isnt used mate, uve read the picture wrong lol, it's the brown cable that goes to the ballast and then on to the egniter -i just tucked the green\yellow cable into one of the socket-holes so it wouldn't touch anything. it's not being used, it's the blue and the brown that are used.
steven7
Set it up the right way brown way brown blue way blue tryed it way no light in .ballast makes a small sound so it looked like it worked now i put the light on the light went on flash and cut off now when i try to put it on i dont get any power

Yikes..... tell me you didn't plug it in wired like that ??? blink.gif

You've got the phase, neutral and earth from the mains wired into the same connector ??

At best you'll blow the fuse in your plug/ electricity meter, at worst you'll burn your house down !!!!

The live from the plug goes to the ballast, the neutral to the ignitor & ignore the earth for the time being, when you put it in your case, connect the earth to the body of the ballast with soething like a solder tag.

So you've got it right now ??

Replace the fuse in the mains plug & You'll need to put the yellow/green wire that goes to the ballast in one connector to the brown wire of the mains plug.

Put the blue from the ignitor in ANOTHER connector and connect to the blue wire from the mains plug.

Ignore the yellow/green that goes to the mains plug for the time being. To be safe don't touch any metal part of it whilst powered on and not grounded.

Oh, and the laminate flooring is going to burn...... for sure.

Hi,

Any updates on the PJ?

If you could post up some more pictures on the inside of your box that would be great.

What size did you get your bits of wood for your box cut to?
