SurpaGuy's right. Either there is damage to the FFCs or (less likely) a poor connection at the FFCs. I have seen my fare share of bad LCD displays (not from this hobby, but at work and school) and there has only been one time where I have been able to fix the problem and that was by squeezing the bezel where the problem line was.
You'll most likely have to get another LCD. It's just a good excuse to invest in a 10.6.
