Anybody have an Avermedia TV Box W7?
Note the "W" since it looks like it will output the 1440 x 900 that my 19" LCD runs natively.

The only places I can find it are Au sites and I can't find any reference on any Avermedia website (TW, NA, Global, etc)

I was looking at the Avermedia 9 but it only outputs 1280 x 1024 and doesn't support progressive scan.

Here's the comparison of the regular 7 and the 9 from the avermedia website.

From what specs I can find the W7 model comes with everything the 9 does except for the component input. Yet the W7 supports 1440 x 900 widescreen output as well as progressive scan input.

Has anybody used one or seen these around the states?

I think that Brainchild had the 9 and liked it as well.

I can output in 1440 x 900 with my laptop and I get a very good picture.

at 1440 x 900 the interference in zero. All the lines are perfect and create a nice even grey.
at 1280 x 1024 there are obvious scaling issues where the lines are creating a larger striped pattern that is probably created by the input not matching the native pixels and having to go through scaling.

In regular viewing of text and video I can't tell so much of a difference but there are some sharpness losses with the lower non native input. And any pattern of lines has some illusion effect. Not much, but when you're looking for it. It's there. Only on the lower res.

The clips I'm using are in a much lower resolution but the difference between native and scaled output by the monitor is noticeable. Even the HD clips show the difference when the monitor has to scale them.
