Okay, heres my idea. I purchased an attic fan timer switch. Its a mechanical timer that counts down from 1 to 60 min. It also has a bypass for constant on. Its rated at 10 amps. I would like to mount it in a box that would supply power to a 1 amp or less dc power converter for my fan and to another switch to control the lamp. The unit could be turned on to constant on then turn on the lamp. Then when done, switch off the lamp and move the timer to 15 or 20 min for the fan.

Here are the questions

1 Anyone else have any experance with a setup like this?

2 The box that the switch came in states that it is not to be used for lights. Are they being paranoid or does anyone have an idea why this would or wouldnt work?

Thanks!

Yep I've been using one for months. There's a thread on it somewhere...I'll look for it.
