ive been soaking this screen with papertowels and a wet towel over that for over 12 hours now but this "came of without any problems in one peace" sentance seems to glow with it's absens..

im lifting something and it's about as thick as a fingernail, maybe slightly thinner, far from paper-flimsy, closer to half a fingernail sorta.. beneth it is a thin layer that seems to wanna come up with the top layer, its superthin, like foodwraping plastic foil and it's dark, i dont know if this is the polarizer or if it's something else but under that is yet another layer and im lost, i dont know what's what anymore and im out of corners so i need help and tips!
The thin dark layer can be seen to the left in this picture -it's just below the top plastic layer, could it be the polarizer or something?

It's too hard to tell. It looks like you still have a layer below the layer that is torn, and out of the three panels (740n, 740n, and 740bx) I've removed AG and polarizers from the polarizer has always been the layer closest to the glass.

The easiest way to know if you've removed the polarizer is to turn the display on and see if it is displaying a picture.

If you have removed the polarizer you can pick up a replacement like the Super-High-Contrast from http://www.polarization.com/shop/catalog/index.html

The Ag layer is on top and it is like saran wrap thin. The layer you are pulling up that is fingernail thick is the polarizer. the bottom layer might be the polarizer seperating or a tac layer.

You can see the AG layer in the pic on top of the polarizer but it looks as if it is a hard ag that is sticking to well to the polarizer. Looks like it's a full polar replacement for you.

sounds nasty, the highcontrast polarizer is so frickin expensive, i was thinking maybe the precut 17" version from 3D lens would do the trick?
http://www.3dlens.com/shop/17-inch-lcd-polarizer.php

there's another version fro 17" with AG but i dont want that offcours so the link should be to a version without the AG -wich would be perfect.

Would that work? as a complete replacement i mean, strip the panel to it's bare glass and replace?

anyone? hate being stuck ... i have no problems ordering, im just waiting for someone giving me an answer as to if the replacement film from 3D lens would work as a complete replacement of the layers on the eye-side of the panel.

I'd try to seperate the two layers. If they are two layers. The first layer should be the antiglare. the second a polarizer.
Go to the opposite corner.
Use the mirror polish method instead of antiglare removal.

thanks cold steel but it's allready too late, one corner is cracked and the polarizer came with it so one corner the size of my thumbnail is missing from the screen tried plugging it in and it wont display in that area so.. so that's why i need info about polarization replacement
