I had to share this one. It is a mechanical means of displaying a picture. Apparently this was in use before CRT's were widely available but got dropped as CRT's got better. These guys are doing some really cool stuff.

The coolest part is that the picture always appears to be perpindicular to the viewer regardless of viewing angle. Pure Magic.

It is also possible to make a tv camera using the same principle.
