I mean, it wouldn't be that hard. You'd just have to put in a motherboard(prolly want to use a shuttlePC one) with a cpu, ram, hd and cd drive. The psu would power the fans for both the PJ and PC.

Hah, just a thought at 3:30 in the morning.

I am not sure, but there may have been a few people that did just that. Only downside would be the size, which if you are making a vertical, wouldn't really matter. (best to put the PC components on the bottom)

I was also thinking of doing that when I get the time/money to build myself a new PC.
Best part would be if it had wheels, so you could roll it around the house if need be.

Yep, definitely been done a few times, including my first PJ.

Not to be a dick...but how on earth does this apply to the conversation?

chrissy has hijacked at least two threads with that question. Just needs to learn the rules I guess. smile.gif Not that we always follow the rules here anyway. wink.gif

I have a dedicated PC in my enclosure but it IS rather large. I can afford having a big projector though.

I know it was suggested to me to just mount the motherboard inside the enclosure to reduce the overall size but I just didn't want to go that route.

I'm sure you can do it rather easily.

I have a computer in my coffee table with the projector as well. Hoplefully will be going to projector v.2 soon with a folded design.

I truly wouldn't bother..... by the time you factor in size. aesthetics and heat control your much better off having it away from the pj and stringing a VGA cable.

I have my htpc in a cupboard inside my entertainment unit... with a little bit of volt modding you can make the fans non-audible.

Goodluck anyway

I'd have to agree. This would be way too much of a headache and the risk of frying computer components comes to mind, which cost $$$. rolleyes.gif Plus the extra bulk to the PJ would be embarrassing to say the least. My fam already pokes fun at my GINORMOUS black box dry.gif , but my new one I'm currently making is much sexier, sleeker, etc. biggrin.gif

Just ran across something last night while I was looking for HD input LCDs ran across Samsungs Syncmaster 730mp 17" LCD. This LCD not only comes with a DVI input, but has a built-in card reader and USB ports; Wiseview is the name of it and it can understand multiple formats (i.e. AVI, JPG, etc, No MPG though). I thought to myself, instead of wasting time, money and effort in putting a whole PC innards in the PJ, why not use an LCD that you can just hook and external HDD to and then you can keep an archive of all the vids literally at your finger tips. Downside, the 730mp has been discontinued and the new model 730mw does not have wiseview. So any thoughts or ideas are welcome if you come across an LCD with built-in Wiseview let me know. With the launch of the new 1 Terabyte external HDDs I could archive my entire DVD collection talk about convenient.

Heres a link all about Samsungs 730mp http://www.trustedreviews.com/displays/rev...D-TV-Monitor/p1
