the closer approach in this forum to HDTV will be this small panel: Samsung 10.6" 1280x768 here. 1080i/p will be downscaled to its native resolution.

1080p is possible using a 15.4" 1920x1200 LCD panel and a controller. I'm planning on building one as soon as I save up some money and I'm still researching a couple things. I'm not completely sure about the PS3's connectivity. Is the only way to get 1080p from a PS3 through HDMI? and if you use HDMI with the PS3 does it have to be HDCP compatbile? Thats the only problem I can see you running into is that currently I don't think there are any LCD controller boards that are HDCP compatible. I'm still looking into that though cause I need an HDCP compatible WUXGA controller. I will let you know if I find one. Basically what I'm saying is, how do you plan on connecting your PS3 to your projector? (By the way, the xbox360 is way better than the PS3 haha)

if you can find one for a good deal then obviously buy the 1080p panel/controller. If you want a little more value for your dollar (if you don't find a good deal on 1080p) then pick up the 10.6" 720p panel....then you can pick up a 1080p later when they are more affordable tongue.gif.

I too am not sure how the PS3 outputs its 1080p signal. If its only through HDMI and required HDCP compliance, you are out of luck. If it doesn't require HDCP (yea right.. sony is the KING of copy protection), you could use an HDMI -> DVI adapter and hook it up to a normal DVI port.

HDCP strippers are starting to appear. I wouldent worry about HDCP. it will be properly cracked soon enough.

There is very little that cant be cracked in this day and age.

From what i have seen the 15.4 inch wuxga projectors look amazing, i am currently planning to build one my self.

I did have a PS3 on order in the UK but I got my money back, they have just removed the Emotion chip from the PAL versions of the PS3 meaning it wont play many PS2 titles.

So screw sony, will get a new generation HD Xbox 360 when they come out
