A rear projection television Joe2000chevy and I have been working on. Here we use a folded path projector inserted into a folded RP enclosure. Plan is to make the frame out of box channel aluminum covered in black canvas that snaps onto the frame. The whole unit can be broken down for portability. We are testing several screen materials that look promising. The projector head is removable from the RPTV.

Here is the projector being used in the RPTV. This projector will lay on its back, and also can be removed and used as front projection.

Here is the frame work of the actual Unit as shown in drawing above, you can see three wood blocks on the sides which house hinges to allow the sides to fold in and the unit to be transported. Choose to use steel wall studs, which make the unit very light.

And here is the Rear Mirror used for now 1/16" thick 30"x40" as calculated in Cadd.

These are the 1st Screen Shot tests. The RP Screen Material (9'x12' Da-Lite) is just draped over it and also the Unit is not sealed up, you can see light bleading onto screen, Also this screen material has a slight hot spoting, not to happy with it, so some of the light is not captured at the screen.

I am Ordering a better RP Screen material which is slightly thicker and better material.

finished the LL Vert. Projector for the RPTV, (Does not have to be the prettiest because it will be inside the RPTV, However, it can also double as a Front ptojector, as the pictures to follow will show.

The starting of skin covering of the RPTV Unit. will be a Grey color and the RP Material will be streatched over a frame and just slide in open area. then a Black trim boarder will frame it out. When finished no light will get inside of unit to disturb the image quality.

Have you tried a white vinyl shower curtain for the screen material?

I use it for my screen and looking behind it looks really good.
Could solve the hot spot issues for $8
