Full Version: Circuit For Fan Delay, Hot Restrike, Power Out, & Min Bulb On Time

Here is the circuit I came up with, it uses some circuit boards from ELK Electronics. Two ELK960 time delay boards at $20 each and two ELK924 relay boards at $10 each. One 4.7k ohm resistor. A 12V automotive relay for the lamp. A SPST toggle switch.

This provides the following:

Runs fan after shutdown (adjustable delay)
Minimum bulb on-time, bulb will run for preset amount of time even if turned off quickly (adjustable)
Power outage lockout, bulb will not restrike until power switch is toggled
Hot restrike delay, bulb will not restrike until fan has stopped

The only odd thing is that the first time you plug it in you need to wait for the fan to stop before you can power the projector on. This is not needed. You also need to wait for the fan to stop if the power goes out, allowing the bulb to cool. This is good.

Attached is my crappy schematic:

Neat. I may just have to incorporate something like this sometime. Thanks for sharing. smile.gif
