Here is what I did to extend a cable for a flip down car TV. A friend had a broken dvd/vcr combo, we ripped all the ffcs out and removed one cable holder (socket). We then took two cables and placed them together contacts touching, slid them in the socket and closed the socket. I basically made a single longer cable out of two replacing the torn one. Worked great. Good luck!
