Here are the parts the we used, most of them are available in Australia. The only thing that we've obtained was the S15 Lens kit from LL

Parts obtained:-

- 15" Samsung 530D LCD (donated by Eric's dad)

- Sylvana 400W MH Lamp (don't get the pearl ones, get the clear ones)

- 400W MH ballast kit

- 2 x 120mm Cooler Master fan (useless, i later swapped to cheapo 92mm fans which worked better)

- atx power supply for the fans

- laminated glass cut with Eric's dad's glass cutter (He's got everything!!!)

- Lab Thermometer

- Stainless steel salad bowl used as reflector (made in india, bougt at Coles)

- Wooden Box made by Eric's dad who's got kickass machinery for cutting wood and making kitchens and joineries

- Rob the sparky who did the wiring for the lamp and power supply

- S15 Lens kit from LL

Later we bought another 15" Dell 150FP LCD Monitor which was easier to install into the box.

Will post pics of different stages when making the projector and results.

My goodness, so much work was put to making this projector, the box along took about 4hrs, we were all eager to install everything into the box and see the result. We were all satisfied when we fired it up and worked perfectly and boy were they amazed

The whole project took 4 weeks due to waiting of parts and waiting for spare time to build it. The box took the longest to build. But if all the parts are available, it would be about 6 hours.

Here's the result

3 meter tall on a factory wall!!!

This is a more reasonable size at home for gaming and movies

This is the prototype using cardboard boxes, do i smell something burning???

This is the first image that we projected, a plastic bag, notice the $10 Australian note.

Comparision of my 82cm TV and the projection

Next post, i will show the step by step of the build of the box and all the parts.
