I have my LCD all stripped and everything and I just need to fix it to the metal frame for extra support. I feel like i've only seen people use silicon for the glue. Is there any reason to not use something else, such as hot glue?

I used a thin bead of silicone sealant at several spots around the edge of the LCD. The silicone can be cut with a sharp knife if I ever need to remove the LCD from its frame.
