I have two 86V overhead projector bulbs that I am using in my projector. I was told that I could use a household dimmer to drop the voltage down from 120V to the appropriate voltage for those bulbs. I am pretty sure that other people have done this in the past so I really dont get what's going on. I hooked everything up and then tested the voltage that was being output to the bulb. The dimmer does in fact change the voltage, but the lowest I could get it to go was around 100V. Is there something going wrong here or is that as low as these things go?
