My pj currently uses the light engine from a 3m 9550 ohp
and it works good actually very good! its 400w 4000lumin halogen, my question is could i replace the bulb with a single ended M/H, ive been looking at these.....


HTI 150W GY9,5 FS1 osram

150w , 10000lm , 6900k or.....

hmi 200w/se GZY9.5

200w , 16000lm , 6000k

any ideas?

The replacment lamps are fairly cheep and you will get good color from the halogen so why change? The halogen are less efficent but the 150 will be dimer. The halagen will make a little too much red but a little adjustment will fix that.

For low hour use the halogen is fine. There should be a 250 watt ceramic from EYE lighting this year and maybe a 400 watt ceramic from OSRAM.

Do you use your PJ a lot or a little? for low hour the HTI lamps are good there is a 300 watt one too.

This one cost a lot but has a 3000 hour life.
