Nice Panel. Tell us how it goes if you buy it, someone's got to have the guts to crack one open. What's $200 anyway?

16M colors; does this mean its interlaced?

It might be dithered color, but "16M" is kind of vague. The Benq's are dithered too.

Wouldn't this monitor give you a better picture because it's 1280x1024? I mean, for $200, wouldn't this potentially be a great monitor?
I would do it, but I don't have a spare $200.

I just ordered one , I'll let everyone know how it strips.
Also I just ordered my tempered glass from a local vendor. 12.75x10.25 (12 3/4 x x10 1/4 ) , it cost $10. He promised no BUG ( logo ) . I would offer to supply anyone who needs for cost plus S$H from zip 33774.
Has anyone ever tried the low-e coating on the glass? ( UV coating) He said it would add about $6 each to the cost, which is not a bad compaired to the film style

Is this thing 1280x1024 or 1024x768? Cause on the Product Information it says it's 1280x1024, but on the detailed specs it says that recommended resoltution is says 1024x768.

That means that the native resolution is 1024 x 768.

I got mine today. I haven't stripped it, but as a monitor it is very impressive. No dead pixels, and UT2004 played very well without any noticible ghosting or color issues. I did watch Ghost In The Shell, and found the blacks a little off. Nothing too bad. But I would have liked them a little darker. I might strip it later tonight just out of curiosity. I would like to see another monitor on the Compatible Monitors List.

Well just to correct something I said earlier about the blacks. I finally configured the monitor, and the results were awesome. I wish I could order a second one to replace the CRT I'm using now.
I stripped the montor. It did not take me long at all, but I'm pretty use to this stuff. I'm having trouble leave the panal in the metal frame, but I can always build my own. There is one FCC issue, and its very much fixable. It's the most common .5MM FCC. If you're good with an iron, you can hand solder it.
The inside panel carries the Acer name, but I have no idea which model. The LCD's must have sold out, because they aren't listed on Tiger Direct anymore. But if anyone would like to know more about the monitor let me know.
