It will turn your pc into a htpc

It is completly free and there are some really nice features on it.

I've downloaded it but find it very hard to use. I want a simple programme which this unfortunately is not.

And how do you get it to play .iso files? I have Daemon Tools installed but when I try to open an iso file from inside Media Portal I cannot see the iso files. Useless!

Try GBPVR. It is free and is an excellent product with great support. www.gbpvr.com

Thanks for the recommendation BoomerBrian, how does GBPVR work in terms of playing iso files? I'm looking for a solution that will treat iso files like normal media files... sure it can use Daemon Tools in the background but as far as playing the files it should be no different than playing an MP3 file.

Not sure. You may have to check the GBPVR forums. The forum is very active so if you ask a question it will get answered.

Hey,

Don't blame me, I only made the suggestion, this is actually modelled on windows xp media center and is an excellent media player.. Maybe you should look at the documentation and your own levels of expertise (simple) before you shoot down someones suggestions.

To say that a free product like mediaportal is useless is a pretty useless comment.

I used media portal a number of months ago, I think it's great. Very similar to media center (which won't work for me right now)

Media portal also works with my media center remote control, there is a demon tool plugin you can get for it to make it work with iso files.

I found Mediaportal fantastic. If i wasnt using vista media centre id still be using it. It can be a bit tricky to use but once its set up its so versitile.
