Hi, I'm just getting started on my first 15" projector...

I knew my monitor had a known FFC issue, but reading through the forums, I still have some questions. I recognize that it is a 20pin .5mm FFC, and i can see where to buy an extension on digikey. My question is how to join the two cables together. I see one end of the extension goes into the ZIF flip lock, but I cannot find a simple FFC to FFC connector on digikey. Am I looking in the wrong places, or is the best solution to buy two FFC-surface mount connectors and attempt to solder them together? Also I think I recall reading a post about someone who simply placed two FFCs on top of eachother and clamped them together. Is this a viable alternative to soldering?

Thanks for any help,
Scott

All you do is place the ffc extension and the original ffc face to face (metal pins touching) and slide them into the zif connector, Then after testing to make sure it's working, hot glue it to make sure it won't move around.
