So I've currently got a 5.1 Logitech setup, but obviously that's not going to cut it when I have a 100"+ 1080p picture. Maybe 8 years ago now, a friend gave me a pair of 200W Pyramid Gold Series 2070 studio monitor speakers. They produced the cleanest sound I had ever heard (until my dad spent a couple grand on Energy speakers) and I've been wanting do use them for 5.1 ever since. I've already tried this before with just the two I had, replacing front left/right. sounded amazing. So I guess my question is, is there any reason not to do this?

P.S. has anyone else had experience with this range of speakers? I can't find a review for any of these kinds of a speakers anywhere. the 4080s look nice, too, but without seeing a review or hearing them myself, it's hard to decide which to get. They seem to be commonly listed as DJ equipment.

I don't know anything about them, but for $25, I will assume they are going to sound very poor. You get what you pay for in speakers 95% of the time.. Bose being in the other 5%

pyramid may have been a good brand many years ago..but their reputation is that of cheap junk these days. You'd be better off getting full size towers for your Fronts and rear surrounds. it makes a big difference. I scored some nice monster tower speakers on craigslist for $40 and they blow my old "cube" surrounds away!
