If I need a 16:9 format, do I just mount the projector screen a little lower than normal, then just extend the screen down about 2/3 of its height. Great price, but I need a widescreen 16:9 format. I haven't looked at screens until recently, so I am still learning about them.
jaceace32
yes that can be done

Has anyone added felt borders to these 4:3 screens to create the size needed? If it would not mess up the screen during retraction, I would be willing to try that as well.

I have that same Da-lite screen and I'm using atomatic borders at the top and bottom to change screen size as needed, the pics below show the screen in full screen and wide screen and there is a pic of the $5 shiatsu machine that I used, this is a very easy to do and it could probaly be done for $25

I have this screen the measurements is 96"wide X 72" tall I also have picks in my plog and in the completed PJ section, there is a comparison shot of King Kong being projected on a regular flat white painted wall and the the next pic shows the same shot being profected onto my Dalte screen, and you can see the difference
here's a link I think it's pic 128 http://www.lumenlab.com/forums/index.php?s...20#topicoptions

And also you can turn down the brightness and contrast on your Lcd and get richer more natural looking colors/contrast when using a 2.8 gain screen.

Damn, shipping this one to my country will almost cost me the same as the screen itself sad.gif

I ordered that screen last Wednesday from Provantage. They are still "awaiting a tracking number from their distribution partner" or whatever. How long do they usually take to fulfill these screen orders? Anyone have any experience with Provantage?

Thanks.

I dealt with Provantage when I bought my screen. They were very good, very helpful and very knowledgable...

UPS left quite a bit to be desired, however.... wink.gif
