Hello i am new to the forum and was looking for some advise on this projector build (please biggrin.gif )

I found a 2.5" LCD laying around my house and it looks pretty good.
Then I found really small halogens that are 500 watts and claim to be 10,000 lumens

so anyway heres my idea

The blue sections where it reads lens i was going to use fresnel lens ans the lens on the frount of the projector i was going to use a 200mm projector lens(if it will work).

The 200mm lens will work normally, it will even work wit ah 90mm lense. But make sure it is a triplet.
I wouldnt use the 500w Halogen because this is way to hot and way to yellow, better use a metal halide lamp with 5000-6000k, a 70w version will do. Or you can use a 35w D2S xenonset, will work fine too.
If you really want it cheap and easy halogen maybe is the best choice, but I would concider 75w or a little more.

If you are using a small display like that you might wanne look for a lense of a crt projector. You can just put the tft a few centimeters from the lense and you won't need any fresnels. These lensen can be found very cheap (tac-3, delta hd"x")
