What is the min contrast ratio people have had success with? What is the contrast ratio of the lilput 7" screen?

I am using a really old Sony monitor, the 13" CRD-133. It has horrible specs, including a contrast ration of 200:1 (may be 150:1) and a response time of 35ms.
The bad contrast ratio means that colors look a little more washed out, and that dark scenes are sometimes unwatchable. As I've been tweaking the pj, it's been getting better and better. Fixing the light leaks makes the picture look so much clearer that some of those dark scenes suddenly have detail again.
We don't consider the color to be a problem for us -- it's definitely paler than a CRT TV, but you can't compare the two pictures directly. In addition, I'm projecting onto an off-white wall, so colors won't be so great anyways.
