I'm new to this, but it looks so cool that I've already started collecting parts.
About the stepper motors. Is it essential they are all the sam kind and type. I mean, if they are different, may they move a different amount of lengt with the same signal? So, like 10 pulses move one steppermotor 20 degrees, while the other one moves 30degrees? (just examples)
Using 2 steppers and ballscrews on the x-axis, the bottom axis, is that gonna make all more complicated, or will it just make it's movement more smooth and stable..?
Ballscrews, just like the steppers, this ones have to be equal to each other to prevent the machined figure to lose it's proportions I guess?
Different ballscrews may have different thread-pitch, so even if they all are similar, the amount of movement on the slide may be different from supposed, if I feed the software with a pre-made "drawing". Can the software easily handle such differences by a kind of setting the drawing being 1:1 or 1:1.1 or 1:0.9 or so?
Places like ebay have ballscrews for such use. They have square-face like threads. Cheaper and more available are 1meter bars with millimetre threading. They are like zig-zag-threaded. They are used in the low-budget cnc-machine. Do they perform satisfying?
And last, while you're here. How powerful should a steppermotor be. I think the table will be like 50cm x 50 cm...
I hope you understand what I ask for. I feel this is very essential to know before starting the builing process.
