Here is my propsed wiring diagram for my projector. As you can see it uses a relay to provide blackout protection for the lamp. This diagram also has plenty of flexibility to add timers to prevent turning on the lamp before adequate cool down. The 12v is provided by the lcd panel powersupply which also turns off when it goes into sleep mode. One fan is always on when the power is on and the other is on when the temperature is above 50celcius. The thermal fan will stay on if the off button is pressed until the box is cool enough.

I would love for people to check this out and make sure its all correct. Tell me what you think or any ways to make it better.

The diode over the relay is to prevent the surge when the coil is opened.
The LEDs are the big 12v ones to avoid protection circuts.
The relay is a 12V coil, DPST with contacts rated at 240V 10A.
I also meant to throw a fuse in before the master switch on the main hot lead.

Looks OK, though your 'standby' LED (which I think is drawn the wrong way round BTW) would always be on! Also I presume your 12v LEDs include integral resistors, which is why you haven't included them in your schematic. If you're driving the circuit directly from your LCD's circuitry you may want to include some sort of isolation like I have done to protect the electronics. From what I can see you have essentially installed a couple of buttons which latch a relay on and off?

Oh yes - your ballast/bulb/ignitor setup doesn't look right to me, unless this is a different type of setup to what I am using (which I think is fairly standard - no e-ballast or anything fancy like that). There's plenty of examples on this forum plus you can check out my configuration on http://www.izzotek.com. I'm not sure if a lamp wiring schematic ever made it into my PLOG (sorry)!

Good luck smile.gif

I dont advise anyone to use this diagram now. Since I have got my ballast, lamp and ignitor my thoughts have changed. I will perhaps revise my wiring diagram sometime soon.
