make it fit
well starting on a project, my first time so be gentle.
I have access to 1000 watt metal halide ballest, with a multi tap 120\208\240\277 volts
my question is.......
should I go with the 400 watt metal halide BT-37 high output bulb 4000k
or
1000 watt metal halide BT-37 clear bulb 4000k

I found these at a greenhouse store blink.gif laugh.gif

I have ordered the fresnels, optics, found a few bearing'd fans, about ready to sacrifice my old 15", and have the plans written down on napkins and bits of scrap paper. Been going through the forum, reading on every bit of info I can absorb between jolt cola and cheezie fixes. So any and all input would be greatly welcomed.

4000K isn't the best color temp. I think the optimum temp is 6500K

4000k will work and some say it looks abit better. but thats as low as you can go .Supraguy was using a 45ook bulb and has screens in his plog. with comparasen shot of 4500k and 6500k.

here a fact i cant find any where ... but tame metioned it once in a pm
Fresnels, if cut, must be apx. 20mm to 30mm larger than the viewable lcd. Because on the edge of the fresnel you will get a destored refraction which can be eliminated by having larger than lcd fresnels.

YOU MUST READ THIS ENTIRE THREAD IF YOU WANT TO MAKE A STATE OF THE ART PROJECTOR.
