Their design is very inefficient. They have the fresnel directly behind the circle opening. Using it like this reduces the fresnel's projection tremendously. They are reducing the light path by nearly 70-80%. Plus they are not mentioning that this will reverse the picture on both axis.

As if the idea of using a 13" tv as a light source isn't inefficient enough! laugh.gif

I love how their trying to sell that idea, show you HOW EASY it is to make, yet they only use a cheap computer animation ad to show it off and never actually show the real results of the finished project. . . hmm. . . dry.gif

And samuraijack, I don't think the statement about YouTube could ever be phrased better than that laugh.gif

It was a nice short cut to make money without any issues in any country. Looks like that fresnel lens business is still getting good money. I remember that, I even bought one of these fresnels for ~$30 in 2001. Seller was kind of unique that year in my country , and I'm sure that he made really good money (he left to sell them last year) and bought a good car or home lol.

I've seen so many people, who were really satisfied with their fresnel's ~5 ansi-lumen projection. I think this fresnel lens rush won't over, unless folks realize Lumenlab's EVO projector. biggrin.gif I mean that time is coming... smile.gif

its funny that in all the ebay ads selling those they directly warn about leaving bad feedback... or else..

HEY! My projector results are there on that trailertrash site! Yay! (I tell ya - the quality of the video is REALLY bad, but I'm happy with the real-life results..)

I bought an OHP yesterday, so I can make a crappy pj on the cheap - just to see how it compares.. I'll bet it's no contest..
