For any of you interested in this monitor you will have to deal with this
Click to view attachmentIt is a 20 pin and the white connector on the left is super easy to use so don't sweat it.
Here is a post with more info about it

EDITChristof was asking for more info about extending the FFC on the x2gen so I am adding some.
First you need the parts get
WM10242-ND
and
WM7710CT-ND
from digikey.com
now you need to free the FFC from the ZIF. All you have to do for that is put a fingernail under the white plastic part that is show in the picture above on the left. To clarify the fingernail goes between the FFC and the top of the ZIF. It should flip up with minimal force.
now the FFC is free 1/3 done
the FFC from digikey is way too thick to fit in the ZIF on the x2gen. It is also a little too thick to fit in its own ZIF when you mash the FFC from the board in there with it. Here is my solution. I took a rounded exacto knife blade and held it perpendicular to the backside of the end of the FFC (the one from digikey) then I moved it back and forth rapidly shaving the blue part of the cable down to make it thinner. It took about ten minutes to shave down both ends. If you had a dremmel with some sort of sanding attachment it would work a lot faster but you would have to be careful not to go to far.
once the ends of the digikey ffc are shaved down enough I would recomend putting the 2 FFCs together first into the ZIF from digikey. I felt like I needed a third hand when I did this. Just open the digikey ZIF and with the 2 FFCs (pins together) jam it into the ZIF. I found that mine jammed in there and didn't want to come out again so I didn't glue it, but some suggest you glue it. then take the other end of the digikey FFC and stick it into the ZIF on the board and flip the little clip/lever back down and you are done.
no big deal
I have F'ed around with this monitor a lot and it still works great so don't worry (besides these things are cheap as dirt so it is not like there is that much risk)
